The International Ferro Alloys Conference (IFAC), the flagship event of the Indian Ferroalloys Producers’ Association (IFAPA), is an annual conclave witnessing the congregation of the entire ferroalloys industry on one podium. The pivotal theme of IFAC 2024 to be held in 17th – 19th September 2024, is green industrial transition and the pressing need to decarbonise the steel and ferroalloys industries.

Building on the success of IFAC 2023 held in Goa from 5th to 7th September 2023, which saw over 450 delegates representing more than 270 organisations and 50+ international delegates from 18 countries, the upcoming edition of IFAC 2024 seeks to stimulate discussion on sustainable practices in ferroalloys production, spotlighting the role of low-carbon energy and strategies for reducing the industry’s GHG footprint.

IFAC 2024 will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions and technical sessions on the evolving dynamics of global steel and ferroalloys production, the emerging supply scenario of manganese and chrome ore mining globally, India’s efforts at attaining self-sufficiency in raw materials production and possible import-substitution strategies, domestic and global stainless steel demand and the projected surge in demand for alloys, the PLI scheme and its impact on production of specialty steels and ferroalloys, emerging export opportunities, burgeoning domestic power surcharges and their detrimental impact on the industry and, of course, technological interventions required to reduce the industry’s CO2 footprint.

IFAC 2024 seeks to spearhead innovation and sustainable growth, with particular emphasis on enhancing the global presence of the India through adoption of best-practices to drive the low-carbon transition of the domestic industry amid exponential increase in capacity expansion.
